Secrets
Confidences
For a work to be printed in time, some Italian masters, both ancient and modern, have acknowledged the importance of the background. It should have this a particular texture, this a specific material presence, similar to that of a wall. A depth is born in the shaping, the duration, the erosion, in the juxtaposition of the contributing factors and the touches of the different characteristics of the seasons. Kandinsky, Klee, Picasso, Pollock, De Stael, Miro ... and others too, may have delved into this abstraction. Even on a canvas, an under-layer - much like a fresco - takes shape, well before the painting reveals itself and appears to the eyes as a finished work. Like the writing word, it is realised silently, secretly, unaware of itself. Loneliness, however, never fails to listen to the world. And when she finally reveals herself, she does not speak too much loudly. To be heard, she just whispers her secrets.
